Yesterday, a former governor of Borno state, Mr. Modu Ali Sheriff, addressed a press conference at Abuja where he attempted to play on the collective intelligence of Nigerians by denying any link with the dreaded Boko Haram sect. He was apparently reacting to his indictment by Rev .Stephen Davies, the international negotiator engaged by the federal government to dialogue with the Boko Haram sect with a view to to securing the release of the abducted Chibok girls.

Former Governor of Bornor state is pictired above weeping at a press conference in Abuja today where he denies allegations  of being a Boko Haram sponsor.

Modu-sheriff has been at the center of serious controversy after an Australian hostage negotiator, Stephen Davis who had primary contact with Boko Haram during negotiations, stated that the former governor was a sponsor of the sect.

Former governor of Borno state, Ali Modu Sheriff has denied all allegations that he is a sponsor of Boko haram in a recent interview with New telegraph.

This is coming after an Australian terrorist negotiator, Stephen Davis accused him openly of being a sponsor of the terrorist sect. Sheriff says that anyone who accuses him of being part of the sect must be insane.

He says;
The Boko Haram war as we know it today, started in 2002 in Yobe State. The first attack of Boko Haram was in 2002 in Kanama, from there they ran to Borno State. And in 2002, where was I? I wasn’t a governor. (Continue)

This Stephen Davis guy has guts..and i am happy he is beginning to expose the deep rot in our government. Davis revealed more yesterday about the President's stance on the current issues with Boko Haram.

Davis said that Jonathan was aware of the insurgents’ sponsors and their specific roles. he was unsure of the extent of information currently before President Jonathan. He added that Mr. Jonathan had been weakened by lack of military loyalty and a history of security negligence.(continue)

Do i smell sardines or what?....let me just reserve my comments....

Former Borno state governor, Alhaji Ali Modu Sheriff met behind close doors with president Goodluck jonathan yesterday in Aso rock and came out with a surprise statement.Sheriff declared his intentions to decamp from APC and join the PDP, stating it was in the interest of Nigeria as a nation(if i hear!).

Sheriff declared that the meeting had nothing to do with his decision, He told newsmen;
The president of Nigeria is president for everybody. He is the president for the over 170 Million Nigerians and he is the father of everybody. So, every Nigerian has the right to see him, on matters that are either of private concern or anything that affects the nation. So, my coming to visit the president was purely on personal grounds. Yes, there is this issue that I might join the PDP, but that was not the discussion that brought me.
