Vigil for Late Prof. Akunyili Holds Today in Enugu 
The funeral of former Minister of Information and Communications, late Prof. (Mrs.) Dora Nkem Akunyili, begins today, Friday, August 22, with a Christian Wake-Keep at her Enugu residence, No. 2A Bishop Onyeabor St., G.R.A. Enugu.
The vigil, which begins from 4:00 p.m., kicks off a week-long funeral programme of activities for the celebrated one-time NAFDAC Director-General, culminating in her burial on Thursday, August 28, 2014.(continue).....

The Junior brother to president Goodluck Jonathan,Meni is to be been buried today saturday 8 2012. Meni Innocent Jonathan died on November 20th of an undisclosed cause.

The president could not hold back his tears as his brother was buried. We send our condolences to the President.

The remains of President Goodluck Jonathan’s younger brother, Meni, who died on November 20, will be buried on Saturday.

Meni died at the National Hospital, Abuja after a brief illness on the day the President marked his 55th birthday.

According to a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, the deceased’s remains would be interred in Otuoke, Bayelsa State after a commendation service.
Abati said Jonathan would leave Abuja for Otuoke on Thursday ahead of the Friday arrival of the corpse.

The statement read, “President Jonathan will leave Abuja for Bayelsa State on Thursday to participate in the burial ceremonies of his younger brother, Chief Meni Jonathan, who passed away on the November 20, 2012.

“Chief Jonathan is to be laid to rest on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at his hometown, Otuoke, in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

“His remains will be conveyed from Abuja to Otuoke on Friday, December 7, 2012 and will be received by the Otuoke Council of Chiefs at the Community Hall at 2.30pm on the same day.

“There will be a service of songs for him at the Dame Patience Jonathan Square, Otuoke at 6pm while a commendation service will be held at the St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Otuoke at 10 am on Saturday.

“He will be interred after the commendation service.”
