The Nigerian super eagles ,yesterday defeated Venezuela 3 – 1. It was a friendly match and it took place at the Marlins park baseball stadium on wednesday.
The eagles showed discipline and experience although the venezuela had more possession, Juan Arango of the ”Vino tinto” was firt to score with a header but was ruled out as an offside,the venezuelan side had two goals cancelled.
Goals started coming in the match when Nigeria’s when Solomon Kwambe slipped a nice cross from the right flank to Brown Ideye who then found the back of the net, the second goal for Nigeria came when Nosa Igiebor nicely took a clearance on his chest and hammered a thunderous strike that whizzed past Dani hernandez, the venezuelan goalie.
Venezuela’s Salomon Rondon found the back of Nigeria’s net but the goal was ruled out because the referee suspected him of using his hand to bring down the ball after a lofted pass that beat Austin Ejide. Venezuela’s moment of truth came when Juan Arango successfully dispossessed nigeria’s Godfrey Oboebona and slipped in a pass to frank Feltscher who slooted the ball home.
Nigeria’s third goal came when Shola Ameobi slid the ball to Ogenyi Onazi who sent the ball spinning to the back of the venezuelan net
