The Traditional 'ORO"Festival has started today in lagos. The festival was kicked off at the palace of the Oba of Oniru Kingdom, Victoria Island.

The festival, which usually lasts for a period of seven days, requires that residents and visitors stay indoors from a particular time of the day, in this case 2am-4am on the days of the festivals.

Below is a Public notice from the Office of Oba Oniru of Iruland,

‘This is just to inform all residents of Oniru private estate especially the landlords and residents of Iru resettlement scheme that with effect from Thursday 1st November 2013 to Wednesday 7th November 2013, we shall be celebrating ‘our traditional festival’ in the entire Iruland and its environs for seven (7) days.

‘The purpose of the festival is to conduct series of prayers, rituals and atonement for the peace, progress and development of Iruland and entire Lagos state in general.

“During the period mentioned above, all residents are hereby directed to stay indoors in their own interest from 2am to 4am daily. Please comply.”
