Lagos state University, LASU is set to reopen on the 24th of February 2014 after it was indefinitely shut down after a violent riot broke out on January 23rd.

In a Memo by the University's senate, the decision to reopen the university was reached to allow the 400 level students of the institution meet up with National Youth Service Corps Batch B mobilisation in June, 2014.

According to Senate’s decision, the new students are to resume March 10, 2014, and commence registration immediately, while 100 Level to 300 level students would resume on April 1st, 2014, and start their exams on April 10, 2014.

LASU shut down after students violently rioted when the University management blatantly refused to reopen the school's exam registration portal.
