Funmilayo Adebayo, the victim who was beaten, dragged, and then dipped into putrid muddy water as seen in the attack video, told SaharaTV that she is slowly recovering from her wounds. But, she has now been warned by her medical doctors not to lift heavy objects due to the internal injuries she suffered from the beating.
Her brother, Segun, also captured in the video attempting to separate the victim and the policeman, spoke about the incident. Segun said that the mobile police officer Mohammed had shot up to 20 rounds of bullets at the scene of the torture.
Also joining the discussion is their mother, who said the beating incident could have been worse. She said that colleagues of the drunken officer, and a certain Mr. Danladi among them, were overheard speaking in the Hausa language that if Mohammed were the culprit, he would have killed everyone at the scene, including the video photographer, for witnessing and recording it.
