Mehn!..what is going on in this country?...Boko haram is on one side killing people, corruption and epileptic power supply is on the other side ...NOW universities rioting and protesting?...The Nigerian government needs to stand up...sincerely speaking.

Yesterday, Students of the Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile Ife, Osun state blocked an entire expressway precisely the Ilesa-Ife expressway in protest of an increase in School fees by the University Management.
Many of the students were seen carrying leaves and placards with different inscriptions, chanting and screaming. Their actions caused a major hold-up on the ever busy highway.

Thje protesters were mostly undergraduates as well as postgraduate students and they were led by the President of the Students Union, Mr. Isaac Ibikunle. They marched from the campus to the expressway and barricaded the highway with planks of wood and tyres. The whole wahala started when a notice was given to students that the school fees had been increased from N17,000 to N74,000 and this excluded the acceptance fee of N20,000(now,this is for entering students), returning students on the other hand would be paying around N50,000(they formerly paid N7,000). This didn't go down well with the students and the students union. The student union members quickly had a meeting with the school management and that was where the VC, Prof. Bamitale Omole revealed that the FG had instructed the University to increase school fees adding that they(FG) could no longer fund education.

I also got exclusive pictures from the "higi-haga"....
