The Kidnappers of the mother of Bayelsa state speaker,Friday Konbowei Benson have demanded a ransome of N40 million naira.
Mrs Betinah benson was abducted from about 12.30am on Monday in her Korokorosei country home, Southern Ijaw Local Government.
The initial demand was N60 million but it was reduced to 40.
According to the speaker, the suspects said he incurred their wrath by his interference in the Korokorosei Community Development Committee chairmanship tussle.
But Benson said the kidnappers allowed him to speak with his mother on the telephone, adding that she appeared to be in good condition.
"The kidnappers told me that they did not like my uncomplimentary comments on cultism when I received an award from an organisation recently."
Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Fidelis Odunna, confirmed that two persons had been arrested in connection with the incident.
