Canadian author, Alice munroe, on thursday, took home the Nobel prize award for literature 2013. The visibly elated writer was announced as the winner by the prize committee in Stockholm, Sweden.

The 82 year old became the 110th Nobel laureate in literature and the first Canadian-based writer to secure the honour. She also walks home with $1.2 million.
