Speaker of the house of Reps, Aminu Tambuwal has publicly denied all reports stating that he has deflected to the APC.
Tambuwal who arrived at the home of the former President at about 10.35am alongside the Deputy Minority Leader of the House, Kawu Sumaila, Hon. Ajibola Muraina of Ibarapa Central/North and Aminu Shagari of Yabo/Shagari federal constituencies went into a closed door meeting with the former president which lasted for almost an hour.Tambuwal described Obasanjo as a leader in Africa who needed to be consulted on matters of national interest.
” We needed to consult our leaders on such very important and vital legislation before we conclude what we are doing on them and electoral act is likely to be amended. So, from his wealth of experience, we needed some input from Baba,” Tambuwal maintained.
On his defection to the opposition party,All Progressives Congress,APC, Tambuwal insisted that he and Chief Obasanjo remain members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).“I am just visiting our national leader of PDP, myself and Baba are in PDP,” he insisted.
