A silly driver who absconded with his employer's hard earned $50,000 has been arrested by galant officers of the Nigerian police after he wastraced to cotonou.

The suspect, Festus Chukwuemeka who hails from umuoma okpofe, Mbaise, Imo state was working with Lagos-based Bureau de Change firm, Westron Finance Limited, when he allegedly stole the cash and fled on 21 January, 2014.

He was captured and brought back to Nigeria by operatives of the Special Fraud Unit (SFU) of the Nigerian Police, Milverton Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, western Nigeria in collaboration with the police from Benin Republic.

The crook was arrested while he was trying to purchase a Toyota Hiace bus with part of his stolen bounty. He revealed after interrogation that the rest of the money was with his wife, Blessing at a village in Idiroko border area of Ogun State, southwest Nigeria. The police was led to the village by the driver and blessing was arrested.The sums of $15,000 and CF2, 620,000 were recovered from her.

He will soon be charged to court.
