The Private residence of Former Governor of Kaduna state, Lawal Kaita was gutted by an evening fire yesterday. The inferno started from a burning candle that had exhausted itself in one of the rooms.
The fire consumed the rug, curtains and other things in the room before spreading to other parts of the house. In all, a total of four bedrooms and 2 sitting rooms were razed completely. One kaita's daughters was trapped in a room during the fire but was rescued later after some security agents and neighbours broke down a wall for her to escape.
