An earthquake with a 5.3 magnitude hit southafrica this morning injuring 3 people and killing one person. The quake reportedly cracked walls and broke window glasses.

According to Werner Vermaak, a spokesman for emergency responders, a man was killed when a wall of a disused mining building fell on him in the Orkney area of Johannesburg, which is where the quake was centred.

Tremors were also felt in other parts of the country including pretoria.
