A 12 year old boy has been charged with murder for shooting a 54 year old homeless man in the head on June 28th. Sharron townsend was arrested on Thursday for the murder of Thomas Trent, 54, after police identified him as the gunman in footage from a security camera near the shooting.
Trent's body was found lying outside an abandoned restaurant.The footage recorded two young men walking near the site where Trent was killed.
A few minutes later, the footage shows the two suspects running “with their shorts on their heads” towards the back of a strip mall where Trent was shot, according to an arrest report. The other boy in the video is a 16 year old currently being held in jail for an unrelated charge.Sharron admitted being in the video during interrogation. The Jacksonville police department are still trying to establish a motive for the gruesome murder.
