Hmmm..so these kind of funny laws still exist in Nigeria?...yes they do...but in this case i think it serves the offender right...how would you beat somebody up for not responding to your greetings...who does that?!
A man,Garuba Rabiu has been sentenced to 14 days in jail for threatening and beating a lady, Omaye Shuaibu.He was sentenced at a Kubwa Upper Area Court in Abuja on Friday after been found guilty on Charges of Intimidation and assault.
The Prosecutor, Cpl. Arziki Kaura, told the court that the offended lodged a report against the offender on November 12 at the Dutse Makaranta Police Station.
The convict allegedly beat up Shuaibu for refusing to answer his greetings three times, Kaura said.
The Prosecutor also said Rabiu threatened to inflict serious injuries on her with a cutlass and that the offences contravened Sections 265 and 397 of the Penal Code.
