Video : Hero Police officer saves driver's life after car bursts into flames

            

A hero driver has become an internet sensation after a video of him saving a blacked out driver who crashed into a petrol pump hit the net. He dragged the driver from his vehicle seconds after it burst into flames

John Vescio, a senior investigator with the New York state police, who had been filling up his car at the other side of the pump saw the car bump into the petrol pump and burst into flames. He ran a short distance away before returning to free the unconscious driver and drag him from the crashed car - pulling him clear as the flames built.
 He then returned to his own car to remove ammunition from the boot just before his vehicle was engulfed by flames.

The saved driver suffered from a diabetes related black-out and has since been released from hospital.
